Arsenal were held to a 2-2 draw at Manchester City after a 98th-minute equaliser from John Stones denied the Gunners all three points.

The North Londoners found themselves a goal behind nine minutes into the game after Erling Braut Haaland put the hosts ahead, but Riccardo Calafiori drew them level in the 22nd minute before Gabriel Magalhaes put them in front in the first minute of added time in the first-half.

However, Arsenal were dealt a massive blow during the closing seconds of the first-half after Leandro Trossard picked up a second yellow card and got sent off.

The Belgium international barged into the back of Bernardo Silva, and then kicked the ball away when the whistle was blown.

He left the referee with no choice but to book him, and Gunners manager Mikel Arteta was furious, pulling his jumper over his head.

Arsenal legend Ian Wright was far from happy with the attacker, blasting him on Premier League productions after the game.

“I was quite disappointed with Trossard,” the former Gunners star said.

“To kick the ball away. It was poor play from him.”

Arsenal were seconds away from their first victory at Etihad Stadium since 2015 before Man City equalised at the death and will be disappointed with the result.

They would have fancied their chances of leaving with all three points had they not been reduced to ten players, and Trossard should have done better after Declan Rice was sent off for something similar against Brighton & Hove Albion.

Arsenal return to action on Wednesday when they host Bolton Wanderers in the Carabao Cup before hosting Leicester City in the Premier League on Saturday.

A win today would have seen them go top of the league table but they are now fourth after dropping crucial two points and will look to return to winning ways against the Foxes.
