Manchester United staged a thrilling comeback to secure a 2-1 victory over Brentford at Old Trafford in the Premier League.

Ethan Pinnock put Brentford ahead at the stroke of half-time when United were down to 10 men due to Matthijs de Ligt’s nasty head injury.

A determined Man United emerged for the second half with Alejandro Garnacho scoring a brilliant volley to level the game.

Rasmus Hojlund delicately lobbed the ball over Mark Flekken after receiving a clever pass from Bruno Fernandes.

Speaking to MUTV after the game, Garnacho revealed his strike was a result of drills in the training ground.

He said: “I think we played a good game, even the first half despite the opening goal. We were angry and we managed to come back with the right mentality.

“I know Rashford, we worked on that in training this week. I know he’s a good crosser, so I had to be ready at the far post. When he crossed, I knew I had to take it first time.”

Garnacho was the most threatening attacking player and got 8/10 in our player ratings. He recorded the most touches in Brentford’s box for United.

Despite missing a few half-chances, he maintained his composure and executed his volley with superb technique.

The credit must also be bestowed on Marcus Rashford for delivering an inch-perfect cross.

The England international possesses an exceptional right foot that allows him to create chances from the right wing.

He played an incredible crossfield ball from right to left to set up Garnacho but the youngster failed to beat the Brentford shot-stopper.

It is fantastic to see that the attacking training drills are paying off in matches.

The coaching staff will feel a sense of fulfilment, as it highlights their significant contributions to the team’s success.
