After days of listening to and reading the inane drivel of both the Scottish mainstream media and also theRangers supporters, you’d be hard pressed to believe it was Celtic who has a 16 points lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership, and is on course for a clean sweep of domestic honours.
After the Ibrox club luckily scraped by a bang average Fenerbahce side on Thursday night, that hysteria has intensified to such a degree that you simply wouldn’t believe that they are the ones about to finish the season empty handed once again.

Beaten in the League Cup final by their biggest rivals. Dumped out the Scottish Cup after a home defeat to a mid-table championship side, 16 points behind and cast adrift in second place in the Scottish Premiership, and on a run of four consecutive home defeats is hardly the form of a force to be reckoned with, but listening to the noise surrounding the Ibrox side you would be forgiven for believing that wee Barry’s squad is a hybrid of Brazil 1970, and Pep’s Barca but still not a patch on the Lisbon Lions.
Athletic Club, Bilbao are coming to Glasgow.
Tomorrow sees the third Glasgow Derby of the campaign take place at Celtic Park. Win, lose or draw Celtic will still be League Champions come May, throw in a Scottish Cup semi final appearance against St Johnstone approaching, and there’s a more than decent chance of a treble on the cards.
Athletic Club from Bilbao took care of Roma in the last round and will be strong favourites to reach the semi-finals of the Europa League, a tournament that former Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou will be targeting to maintain his trophy winning sequence in his second season at a club.
It’s hard to see theRangers getting past the Basque side and with their strong Celtic connections they will be warmly welcomed by the Celtic supporters into our city. It will be a pleasure watching Athletic Club winning this tie.

So on course for a domestic treble after a brilliant and financially rewarding Champions League campaign, or clutching at straws with the long-shot hope of lifting the Europa league in an otherwise trophy-less season. I know what situation I’d rather be in and deep down so do they.
Tomorrow’s a great chance for Celtic to deliver a reality check to the delusional mob across the city. Bet you can’t wait!
