That is according to the Hull Daily Mail, which states that Neil Harris is keen to bring the winger back to the club.

The Tigers will soon get preparations underway for another Championship campaign, this time working under a new manager.

Tim Walter has been given the reins at Hull, taking over from Liam Rosenior, and like any football club, when a new manager arrives, there could be a flurry of activity in the transfer market.

It appears as though Longman may be a player to be moved on by the club, but it is a fresh start for a lot of these players under the new boss, and they may be eager to prove they are worth keeping around.

Hull City likely to let Ryan Longman leave as Millwall eye deal

Longman first joined Hull City on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion in 2021; that loan lasted six months as in the January 2022 transfer window, Hull signed the winger on a permanent basis.

The 23-year-old has gone on to play 73 times for the Tigers, during which time he has scored seven goals and chipped in with five assists.

Longman played over 30 games in both Championship campaigns he has had with Hull, but last season he wasn’t fancied under Rosenior and was shipped out on loan before the close of the summer transfer window.

He spent the season with Millwall and will now return to Hull when the club reports back to pre-season next week.

According to the Hull Daily Mail, Longman is one of the players that is likely to be moved on during the course of this summer.

The report states that Millwall manager Neil Harris is keen to bring him back to The Den, and the player himself is said to be keen on remaining in South London.

Longman will report for pre-season at Hull, and it hasn’t been ruled out that he could stay at the club, but this update states that him remaining at the club at this particular time appears unlikely.

Ryan Longman’s 2023/24 stats at Millwall

Liam Rosenior’s plans for Hull last season didn’t feature Ryan Longman, so the club decided it would be best if he spent the season elsewhere.

He joined Millwall on a season-long loan deal, a move that worked out well for the player, as he featured heavily for the Lions.

Longman played in 35 league games for Millwall in the 2023/24 campaign, 19 of which came as a starter.

He was a player that was very much in and out of the starting XI, but that didn’t stop him from getting on the scoresheet three times, as well as grabbing three assists.

Longman seemingly did enough in that period at The Den to warrant manager Neil Harris wanting him to return.

Ryan Longman should look to leave Hull City

When Hull signed Longman on loan from Brighton and then made that deal into a permanent switch, it looked like a good piece of business for the club.

The 23-year-old was a prominent fixture in the team, and it didn’t appear as though that was going to change.

However, last season, Rosenior didn’t want Longman in his plans for whatever reason, and once he was shipped out on loan to Millwall, it could be argued that his Hull career was over.

The winger has one year remaining on his deal with the Tigers, so they are likely going to want to cash in now or he leaves for free in 12 months.

This transfer window is the right time for the player to leave Hull and find a club where he is going to feature regularly. If that is Millwall, then that is a good move, as Longman played a lot of football last season, and it appears as though Harris is keen to have the player back at the club once again.
