That is according to a fresh report from Alan Nixon via Patreon, with the Terriers looking to continue conducting their transfer business in a manner which has already caught the eye of many onlookers.

The West Yorkshire side returned to League One for the first time since 2012 in dismal fashion last term, finishing in 10th - 14 points behind the play-off places - with Michael Duff dismissed in March before Jon Worthington was unable to halt the slide in the campaign's final weeks.

Lee Grant has since been appointed, with the 42-year-old already backed significantly by American owner, Kevin Nagle, with Town making six signings thus far in the form of Ryan Ledson, Sean Roughan, Marcus Harness, Joe Low, Murray Wallace and Josh Feeney.

The former Ipswich Town assistant coach already has several attacking options at his disposal, but is now looking to further bolster this department, as Huddersfield aim to poach the highly-rated striker away from the Bet365 Stadium.

According to Nixon's aforementioned report, the Staffordshire outfit value the 19-year-old in the region of £2.5m, which is a figure that the third tier outfit are said to be close to matching.

Despite Lowe's well-documented exploits at Walsall during the first half of last season, in which the forward found the net 15 times in just 22 league appearances in the West Midlands, it has been claimed that Stoke could move the England youth international on if they are to receive an adequate sum for his services.

Huddersfield have already shown their ambition with the signings made thus far, whilst also reportedly lodging the same fee to prize Ethan Galbraith away from divisional rivals, Leyton Orient. But, it remains to be seen whether the Terriers agree with the bonuses required to hit Stoke's seven-figure valuation.

Lowe has made 27 senior appearances for Stoke after breaking into the first-team picture, scoring twice, with one of those goals coming against West Bromwich Albion following his recall from the Saddlers in January. However, his overall gametime was somewhat limited, making just 10 appearances, half of which came from the starting lineup under Mark Robins.

Nathan Lowe raid would further increase Huddersfield Town promotion expectations and aid Lee Grant striker search

Lowe's performances have previously caught the eye of staff at the John Smith's Stadium, with Football League World exclusively revealing Town's interest in a loan move for the forward amid his stellar spell with Walsall back in January.

However, he snubbed the potential move up the EFL ladder as he hoped to remain with Mat Sadler's side for the season, with the Reds' promotion bid subsequently falling off a cliff following his recall, missing out on automatic promotion before losing to AFC Wimbledon in the play-off final at Wembley on May 26th.

Town would then invest heavily in Joe Taylor and Dion Charles. However, neither have got off and running in the blue and white in terms of goalscoring form yet, whilst recent transfer target, Aaron Collins, dropped into League Two to join the ambitious project at MK Dons.

It is clear that Grant is in the market for yet another striker, and parting with such a hefty sum for Lowe could be the answer, whilst also increasing expectations of a return to the Championship.
