Trent Alexander-Arnold could make Los Blancos debut in Group H curtain-raiser in Miami on Wednesday
Trent Alexander-Arnold could make his Real Madrid debut as they begin their Club World Cup campaign against Al-Hilal in Miami this evening.
The England international’s move to Madrid was expedited, with Los Blancos paying Liverpool a £10million fee to secure his availability for the tournament.
Spain defender Dean Huijsen is also in line to make his debut after completing a £50m move from Bournemouth earlier this summer.
Xabi Alonso will manage Real Madrid for the first time since leaving Bayer Leverkusen to succeed Carlo Ancelotti as Madrid look to add to their five Club World Cup titles won so far.
This evening’s game marks a rematch of the 2022 Club World Cup final, where Real Madrid triumphed over Al-Hilal with a 5-3 victory.
Al-Hilal, the first Saudi Arabian club to reach the Club World Cup final, have the likes of Ruben Neves, Joao Cancelo and Aleksandar Mitrovic in their ranks and will be hopeful of causing an upset against the LaLiga giants.
TV channel: In the UK, the game will be televised live on 5 (formerly known as Channel 5), which is free-to-air. Coverage starts at 7:30pm BST ahead of an 8pm kick-off.
