Tottenham return to Premier League action this afternoon with more than just points at stake. A clash against a resurgent Wolves side awaits, and while the focus is officially on domestic progression, one eye may already be drifting toward European ambitions.
Last weekend’s win over Southampton may have mathematically consigned the Saints to relegation, but for Ange Postecoglou’s side, it was about more than just the scoreboard. Spurs remain lodged in 14th, yet the 1-0 victory helped restore rhythm ahead of their pivotal Europa League quarter-final. The 1-1 draw with Eintracht Frankfurt midweek leaves the tie finely poised, and there’s a growing sense that Postecoglou may rotate with the second leg in Germany looming.

“As a result, Ange Postecoglou may have one eye on next week’s huge season-defining second leg in Germany and that may impact his team selection today.”
Wolves, meanwhile, enter this encounter in buoyant mood. Three consecutive wins, capped off with a decisive triumph over Ipswich, have created a welcome 12-point buffer from the relegation places. With just seven games to play, the Midlands club appear to be finishing strongly and could pull within two points of Spurs with victory here.
Supporters hoping to watch the action unfold live in the UK will be left disappointed. Despite the 2pm BST Sunday kick-off avoiding the traditional Saturday 3pm broadcast blackout, the fixture hasn’t been selected for live coverage by Sky Sports.
“But it has not been selected for live coverage by Sky Sports, who are instead showing Liverpool vs West Ham followed by Newcastle vs Manchester United at St James’ Park.”
TV channel: The game will not be broadcast in the UK.
