Placed into Group H of the FIFA Club World Cup, Real Madrid find themselves alongside Pachuca, RB Salzburg, and Al Hilal in a bid to make it to the knockouts of the event.
Needless to say, they are one of the favorites to make it out of the group and even go to win the event in the United States for it is the club president’s dream to make Real Madrid the first-ever winner of the competition.
With names like Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid, Chelsea, Borussia Dortmund, and Inter Milan all in the mix, however, it will be anything but easy.
The beauty of the FIFA Club World Cup is that clubs from across the globe are included in the event and compete for one common trophy as opposed to the usual practice of isolating tournaments by continent.
While Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr is not be in the event, Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami are in the mix and Real Madrid could well lock horns with the Argentine legend.

As relayed by AS, Real Madrid could face Inter Miami should certain conditions work out.
For starters, if Inter Miami and Real Madrid finish first and second in their groups respectively and go on to win subsequent games, they will be paired against one another in the semi-final stage of the event.
Another possibility is that both teams top their respective groups, but in that case, the two teams would have to make it all the way to the final to make the date possible. That, however, is more unlikely given the strong competition.
Inter Miami began their campaign earlier today in the competition’s curtain-raiser against Al-Ahly which ended in a goalless draw.
Given that they are in a group with Porto and Palmeiras as well, it will not be easy for Messi and Co. in any capacity considering their recent run of form.
