Kyle Walker has officially signed as a new Milan player, has addressed the Rossoneri fans for the first time and has revealed how David Beckham and colleague Tammy Abraham influenced his decision to move to San Siro.

Walker has joined Milan on a loan deal until the end of the 2024-25 season with an option to buy clause included at a price of €5m. There is already an agreement in place over a contract until the summer of 2027 should the Rossoneri activate his buy-out option.

Walker becomes the ninth England international to sign for Milanm following in the footsteps of past icons Jimmy Greaves, Luther Blisset, Ray Wilkins, Mark Hateley, David Beckham and current stars Fikayo Tomori, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Tammy Abraham.

Walker reveales Beckham and Abraham roles in Milan move

Walker has revealed that he decided to take the no.32 shirt in honour of former England captain Beckham, who wore the same number during his two stints in San Siro.

He also revealed that a conversation with Rossoneri centre-forward Abraham also played a part in his decision to join Milan from Man City,

“Tammy told me I should come, he helped me make the decision,” Walker said to Milan’s internal media channels, quoted via Sky Sport Italia.

“The fans here are incredible, hearing them sing and feeling their support means a lot and it’s going to be a big boost until the end of the season.

“I chose the number 32 shirt because of David Beckham, an icon in our country,” he revealed.
