Holding your nerve – Panic is infectious

It is all about holding our nerve at this stage, Newcastle United fans, players, manager, everyone.
Panic is infectious.
Thankfully, we have Eddie Howe.
The Head Coach now back at work, preparing the players and he will be there at the side of the pitch today.
We are so lucky as well now to have the likes of Jason Tindall, Graeme Jones and others, who are Eddie’s backroom team and who have filled in so well in his absence.
The Newcastle United players, I have total confidence in as well, when it comes to holding their nerve. As they have proved with that nine match winning run, then the most recent six victories in a row.
A one-off loss to a very good (and in-form) Villa side isn’t going to send them into a state of shock and ensuing panic.
I am not so sure about some Newcastle United fans though!
Can they collectively hold their nerve???
I reckon for sure, that all five Champions League contenders will drop some points in their remaining matches.
What is important is how you react to any setback.
Such as a defeat away to a Villa team in great form.
Eddie Howe and his Newcastle United players have done this all before, only two seasons ago…
Newcastle United 2022/23
Now just a case of getting back on the horse after that stumble and fall last week, finish the job, just as we did two years ago.
Back in 2022/23 that Villa defeat came after Newcastle had just won five Premier League matches in a row.
After the defeat to Villa back then, a wounded and angry Newcastle went 5-0 up within 21 minutes and ended up making it eight PL wins in nine matches, scoring 13 goals in three games.
If United now do the same, win their next three against Ipswich, Brighton and Chelsea, make it eight wins in nine PL matches, then Champions League football will be surely guaranteed once again.
