Hibs managed to rope in the Suriname international from Roda JC in July 2023 and forked out a substantial fee of around €700,000.

However, they failed to get the best out of him and sent him out on a season-long loan back to his homeland last summer.

At PEC Zwolle, Vente found his spark and finished with 17 goals in 37 matches overall, making a massive impression in Dutch football.

Vente, though, is set to bring a permanent end to his association with Hibernian by returning to the Netherlands.

According to Dutch daily the Algemeen Dagblad, Heerenveen are set to pay Hibs a fee of around €800,000 to sign him.

Through the sale, Hibs are going to make a profit which will help in improving their financial status.

Vente has already undergone his medical at the Dutch club and is set to seal his Hibs exit in the coming hours.

The striker is a product of Feyenoord’s youth academy but left the club in 2021 to join Roda.

Hibs will hope that the money earned from the sale will help them rebuild the squad to compete in Europe.

They are set to enter the Europa League next season at the second qualifying stage, where they have a tough tie against Midtjylland on the agenda.

The first leg of the tie will be played away from home on 24th July.
