Crystal Palace goalkeeper Dean Henderson has called the club’s recent trophy successes a ‘remarkable moment’ in the club’s history.

The Eagles lifted the Community Shield at Wembley after a penalty shootout win over Liverpool. Palace were competing in the season’s curtain-raiser for the first time, after winning their maiden major trophy with FA Cup success in 2024/25.

Less than three months later, Oliver Glasner’s side have won silverware again after holding their nerve in a shootout.

Palace twice came from behind as the clash finished 2-2 after 90 minutes, with goals from Jean-Philippe Mateta and Ismaila Sarr cancelling out Liverpool efforts from Hugo Ekitike and Jeremie Frimpong.

In the shootout, Mohamed Salah blasted Liverpool’s first kick over the bar before Henderson saved from Alexis Mac Allister and Harvey Elliott.

The goalkeeper said it was an ‘incredible’ feeling to win another trophy for the South London side.

“These emotions are fantastic. The manager said we’d get chances in the second half and we deserved to win that in the end,” Henderson reflected to TNT Sports.

“It’s incredible to beat Liverpool. Coming here they were the favourites, they have unbelievable players and are a good team. But we’ve won two trophies in three months for this club and it’s a remarkable moment in our history.”
