Barcelona manager Hansi Flick was pleased with his team’s dominant performance as they secured a spot in the Champions League quarter-finals.
Barça sealed a convincing 3-1 victory over Benfica at Montjuic, building on their narrow 1-0 win in the first leg.
This result gave them a comfortable 4-1 aggregate triumph, ensuring their progression to the next round of the competition.
Flick acknowledged the quality of his squad’s display, highlighting that they controlled the game well and created plenty of opportunities.
“We played a great game, I think we did very well. We could have scored a couple more goals, but I’m happy,” he began saying.

With the quarter-final stage approaching, Flick admitted that keeping an eye on potential opponents is important.
Barcelona are set to face either Borussia Dortmund or Lille, who played out a 1-1 draw in Germany during their first-leg encounter.
The German coach stressed that while the Champions League remains one of Barça’s primary goals, it is also the toughest competition to win.
However, he remains hopeful that his side can go all the way and lift the prestigious trophy.
“It’s important to look at who we’ll be drawn against in the quarter-finals because the Champions League is an objective, yes, but it’s the most difficult trophy to win. We hope we can achieve it.”

One of the standout moments of the night was Lamine Yamal finding the back of the net. The young forward had not scored in some time, and his goal was crucial for the team.
Flick expressed his happiness for the youngster, noting that Yamal’s growing confidence is evident. Scoring at such an important stage was a major boost for both the player and the team.
“I’m very happy for him; he hasn’t scored in a while. He was happy too because it was an important goal for us. He was great. He’s showing a lot of confidence; the goal came at the perfect time.”

Meanwhile, Raphinha recently stated that Barcelona are strong contenders for every competition they are in.
Flick welcomed this mindset, appreciating the confidence within the squad. However, he also emphasised his responsibility to remain composed and guide the team with a game-by-game approach.
“I think it’s good that the players think like that. They have confidence, they believe in what they’re doing, but my job is to stay calm and look to the next game,” he noted.

Another key player in Barça’s recent performances has been Pedri. Flick was full of praise for the midfielder, stating that he is playing at his absolute best.
He highlighted Pedri’s intelligence, both on and off the ball, and described him as the finest player in his position.
The young Spaniard’s influence on the team continues to grow, and his current form is a major asset for Barcelona moving forward.
“He’s 100 percent. It’s incredible to see what he does with and without the ball. He’s playing in the most suitable position. He’s the best in the world in his position,” he added.
