The victory leaves us just three wins from a record fourth successive Premier League title.

At just 23, Haaland has already hammered 21 three-goal salvos in his professional career.

This was the sixth he has achieved in the Premier League in just 64 appearances, with only seven players ever scoring more than that.

Our No.9 clearly enjoys facing Wolves at the Etihad, after netting a hat-trick in last season's equivalent fixture.

That made him the third player to score a home treble against the same opponent in consecutive Premier League campaigns after Robbie Fowler against Arsenal and Alan Shearer against West Ham (both in 1994/95 and 1995/96).

He also became the third player to score multiple first-half hat-tricks in Premier League history after doing so against Nottingham Forest last season, along with Andrew Cole and Michael Owen.

Two of his four goals came from the penalty spot, taking him to 13 converted penalties in the Premier League. Only Sergio Aguero (27) has scored more such goals for City.

The arrival of his fourth in just the 54th minute made this the second fastest four-goal haul in the Premier League, after Gabriel Jesus' outstanding performance for City against Watford in April 2022.

This hat-trick was the 41st scored by a City player in the Premier League, with only Liverpool (42) netting more in the competition’s history.

And it was the 30th Premier League treble netted at the Etihad Stadium, more than at any other ground.

His latest effort came in a dominant performance by Pep Guardiola's side, with City having 20 shots to Wolves' two and enjoying 58% of the ball.

We amassed a total xG of 3.57, meaning we outscored our chance creation by almost 1.5 goals.

Premier League stats so far this season

Erling Haaland is the overwhelming favourite for the Premier League Golden Boot, with 25 goals to his name.

Alexander Isak and Cole Palmer are his closest challengers with 20 each.

Julian Alvarez and Rodrigo have nine assists each, making them joint-fifth across the division when it comes to laying on a team-mate.

Rodrigo's total of 3,304 passes is the most across all 20 clubs by a considerable margin.

Our 87 goals across the team is the second most in the league, behind only Arsenal.
