Erling Haaland’s early penality against Brighton on Saturday made him the quickest player ever to 100 goal involvements in the Premier League.
The Norwegian has needed just 94 appearances in the English top-flight to register 84 goals and 16 assists.
It sees him far exceed the previous record, set by Alan Shearer when he hit three figures in his 100th appearance in 1995.
Eric Cantona, Mo Salah (both 116 games), Sergio Aguero (118) and Thierry Henry (121) make up the star-studded list that trail Haaland's astonishing record.
This latest landmark comes in our No.9’s third season at the Etihad Stadium, having won the Golden Boot in the last two terms as we lifted the Premier League title.
That made him the first player ever to win that personal accolade in both of their first two seasons in the Premier League.
His 36 goals in 2022/23 remains the record-high single season tally for a player, while he also contributed eight assists in a stellar debut year in Manchester.
Haaland’s immediate impact was recognised when he won the Premier League Player of the Season and Young Player of the Season awards, as well as the FWA Footballer of the Year.
He backed that up last term with 27 goals and five assists as we became the first side ever to win England’s top tier four seasons in a row.
The 24-year-old now has 21 goals in the Premier League in 2024/25 in 28 appearances, while he has laid on three assists for his team-mates.
Earlier this season he became the 19th man to 100 Manchester City goals across all competitions, needing just 105 matches to do so.
Our No.9 also extended his City contract until the summer of 2024, meaning there’s plenty more time for him to set records galore at the Etihad Stadium.
Congratulations to Erling on this latest milestone in his exceptional career!
