Groundhog Day again as Rangers are plunged deep into a mess of our own making

What a mess. Once again Rangers are in the usual mess that happens every season at Ibrox, only this time it’s started quicker than normal. Rangers are in yet another mess of our own making.
Yes, we’re not even into September yet and the fans have had enough already of the sham manager and patience is thin on the owners.
The problem is you reap what you sow.
Fans demanded change – all the big fan groups and the fanbase at large decided that Douglas Park (who was there last night btw) was the demon and that new owners were required.
They called them ‘Celtic killers’ as Cavanagh, Marathe and the rest strode down the Marble Staircase in glory.-
Ibrox Noise was the only supporter group/organisation who did not endorse the new American owners, everyone else reckoned they were the Messiah. We took a LOT of stick for 6 months over that.
And when they, these heroes, appointed Russell Martin their new manager, Ibrox Noise’s spidey senses only tingled harder. And the abuse got more intense!
Even the fans had misgivings about the appointment but got in line with the ‘he’s here now, give him a chance’.
Ibrox Noise did not. Only a handful of hardy souls backed our stance – we’ll give a few of you a name seeing as you put your necks out there. Tom, Irene, Billy, you were among the minority who would not offer your backing to Martin.
And we were all painfully correct.
It’s cost us another season and plunged our club into absolute disrepute.
It’s cost £25M of wasted money on catastrophically poor signings, a dreadful manager and a board who don’t care.
But the biggest cost is indeed time. Time is the most valuable commodity on earth. Can’t mine it, can’t get more, can’t modify it. Can’t buy it with all the money in the world.
And we’ve lost yet more of the most precious substance in existence. At least another season of it.
More young fans become adults and more baby Bears are born. More elder vintage move onto pastures new.
And as more time passes 56 becomes further and further away.
All because the board cheaped out on a truly horrible appointment.
The writing was on the wall as soon as Russell Martin was seriously in the frame – it should have set alarm bells ringing to all fans, not just us. Rangers are in yet another mess of our own making.
And now this board are happy to stand by him.
We shudder to imagine the mess at the weekend.
