Gordon And Isak Get 8.5 | Newcastle United Players Rated In Dominant Win Vs Sheffield United | OneFootball

Newcastle United welcomed Sheffield United at St. James’ Park earlier today as they focused on securing maximum points at home in the Premier League. The Magpies made a slow start to the game as they conceded the opening goal in the fifth minute when Anel Ahmedhodzic scored for the Blades. However, Alexander Isak equalised for the home team in the 26th minute. Both teams went into the half-time interval with a 1-1 scoreline.

Eddie Howe’s men came out with a purpose in the second half and managed to take the lead in the 54th minute via  Bruno Guimaraes’ goal. Isak scored again but this time from the penalty spot in the 61st minute before Ben Osborn scored an unfortunate own goal just four minutes later. Callum Wilson put the icing on the cake as he scored as well in the 72nd minute. The Tyneside club ended up securing a dominant 5-1 win in front of their home fans.

He made a few solid saves at the back but failed to keep a clean sheet this afternoon.

RB: Tino Livramento – 7/10

Livramento did his fair share of defending and made some good chances going forward.

CB: Fabian Schar – 6/10

He made one important clearance in the first half and was replaced at half-time.

CB: Dan Burn – 7.5/10

Burn performed his defensive duties well and was accurate with his passing.

LB: Lewis Hall – 7/10

He was a positive influence at both ends of the field.

CM: Sean Longstaff – 7/10

Longstaff anchored the midfield well and had a few lively moments in the opponent’s half.

CM: Bruno Guimaraes – 8/10

He caught the eye at times in both halves and ended the game with a goal to his name.

CM: Elliot Anderson – 6.5/10

Anderson was full of energy and running in the middle of the park.

RW: Jacob Murphy – 8/10

He came back to defend when needed and managed to create a handful of decent chances for others around him. He has got an assist to show for his efforts.

ST: Alexander Isak – 8.5/10

Isak was a constant menace in the final third and made a difference for Newcastle by scoring twice this afternoon.

LW: Anthony Gordon – 8.5/10

Gordon caused all sorts of problems for the opposition defenders and did well to secure an assist.
