Lazio have regained the services of their veteran star Pedro as the group continues its preparation for the upcoming fixture against Bologna.
The Spaniard was forced to miss training on Wednesday due to a bout with gastroenteritis. This prompted some concerns at the club, as Mattia Zaccagni had to skip back-to-back Serie A fixtures when he encountered a similar problem. But according to La Lazio Siamo Noi, Pedro has already resumed training on Thursday, so he should be available for Sunday’s clash against the Rossoblu.
The other good news for Marco Baroni is the return of Boulaye Dia who overcame a medical scare. The striker initially tested positive for malaria when he first reported to Senegal for international duty. But luckily for the 28-year-old, he was later medically cleared, and has now resumed training as normal.
The source adds that Dia is even in the running for a starting berth against Bologna. The former Salernitana man is in a three-man race for the centre-forward role in Baroni’s expected 4-3-3 formation. Taty Castellanos is usually the main option upfront, but he won’t return to training until Friday due to his late return form Argentina. The versatile Tijjani Noslin represents the third option.
The report also expects Gustav Isaksen to lock himself a starting role on the right side at the expense of Loum Tchaouna, while Zaccagni operates on the opposite side as usual. Moreover, Luca Pellegrini will replace the injured Nuno Tavares at left-back.
