Santiago Gimenez’s agent has slammed the door shut on an exit from AC Milan, which means Artem Dovbyk should also remain at Roma.
The negotiations for the exchange of strikers had run into numerous problems, including the reticence of the Mexico international and Roma director Frederic Massara.
There had been suggestions from Sky Sport Italia today that Chelsea too had made an approach for Gimenez, in which case Dovbyk could’ve been sent to Milan in a separate transfer.
Santiago Gimenez agent Rafaela Pimenta warns he is staying at Milan
However, with the statement made by agent Rafaela Pimenta on her Instagram Stories this afternoon, it would seem the matter is over.
“Maybe it’s because we cheer on Gimenez x AC Milan,” she wrote in red on a black background.
This was also a reference to a Rossoneri supporter’s chant and makes clear he is going nowhere.
The player himself also made his position clear.

Consequently, Roma are also unlikely to part with Dovbyk if they have no replacement.
They had been linked with Breel Embolo of AS Monaco, but he is now ready to sign for Stade Rennais instead.
The lack of a new winger also means Tommaso Baldanzi’s proposed loan to Hellas Verona is off and it should be the end of Roma’s transfer activity.
The summer transfer window in Serie A ends today at 20:00 CET (19:00 BST). Make sure you follow all the live updates and confirmed transfers on the Football Italia LIVEBLOG.
