Roma sporting director Florent Ghisolfi spoke to DAZN shortly before kick-off to Lazio-Roma.
The French executive addressed several topics including Claudio Ranieri’s executive role at the end of the season and Alexis Saelemaekers’ future.
“[Ranieri] is doing a great job,” said Ghisolfi. “He is a very important figure, he will be a sports advisor close to me and the ownership. We want to give stability to our project.”
“We are looking for a coach who will have the same passion for our project, which is great. The centenary is in 2027, perhaps in 2028 the new stadium will be built. We are looking for someone who has this vocation for the project and who is aligned with us and the ownership.”
“There are only a few names left on the list, we are working to close the matter soon.”
“For me, Dovbyk has fifty percent of his potential today, he’s a fantastic player. When he’s 80 or 90% he could be the best striker in Serie A.”
“Saelemaekers is happy in Rome and we are happy with him, we want to keep him.”
