Family Day home match v Austria Klagenfurt

The international break is over! Our Taxham training base is a hive of activity again ahead of our home match this Saturday 14 September at 17:00 CEST against SK Austria Klagenfurt.

Our game against Klagenfurt is a dress rehearsal for our Champions League opener in Prague, no less (bus journeys to which can still be booked!). First things first, our aim is to take three points again after losing for the first time this season against Rapid before the international break.

We also have a score to settle against Klagenfurt after dropping points twice to them last season. There was a lot of change at Peter Pacult's side over the summer, but they have coped with that well so far. Seven points from five matches leaves them in sixth place, while they have comfortably made it through to the third round of the ÖFB Cup.

Pepijn Lijnders is well aware of the opponents' strengths and weaknesses, so our Red Bulls are fully focused on the task in hand. The players who have not been away with their national teams have used the past two weeks to recharge their batteries. There might be a new signing or two making their debut on Saturday too - we cannot wait!

Family Day with free tickets for children

A great matchday is in store for fans of all ages! The match against Klagenfurt is the focal point of our Family Day. All children up to and including the age of 13 can get free tickets, with Family Tickets also significantly discounted. Details on that and on coming to the stadium on Saturday can be found in our matchday info.

I would like to start by saying how much I respect Klagenfurt. I saw one or two of their matches, including our 4-3 defeat in Klagenfurt last year. They changed their team a lot since with a lot of new players. You can see they play without any fear, and that they will attack and press us. It's clear how determined they are to win. We will prepare carefully in the next day or two for them. We are playing at home though in our own stadium. We want to put in a good performance for our fans.

Pepijn Lijnders

We know that Klagenfurt are fast and can do a lot on the break. They don't have much to lose against us at all, and we have to be prepared for that. We are only starting to prepare late after all our internationals have returned. We are looking forward to the clash though. It has been an intensive season so far, and it will be more of the same this autumn, as that's the situation we have achieved. The break that a few players got has been very good for them. We have been able to recharge. The others were with their national teams, have got some playing time and stayed in a match rhythm, which is also positive.
