Magpies end pursuit after striker confirms PSG stay and €75m valuation blocks move
From Liverpool to United.. Now PSG? Newcastle’s Striker Curse Continues
Newcastle United've officially stepped away from signing Paris Saint Germain striker Goncalo Ramos in the ongoing summer transfer window according to reports from The Times.
The English club’s decision comes after 2 main concerns. Firstly the Magpies are wary of repeating recent failures in their hunt for new forward having already missed out on Hugo Ekitike who joined Liverpool and Benjamin Sesko who signed for Manchester United.
Secondly PSG’s high asking price of 75 million euro for Ramos was considered excessive by Newcastle’s board.
Ramos himself has reinforced the decision, publicly expressing his intention to remain at PSG. His comments followed the club’s victory in Super cup against Tottenham Hotspur, a triumph that further boosted team morale & underlined his role in the squad.
