Frenkie de Jong speaks out on his Barcelona future | OneFootball

Barcelona star Frenkie de Jong has on Thursday provided a fresh insight into his future with the club.

And the news will no doubt come as music to the ears of the Blaugrana faithful.

This comes amid confirmation on the part of the Dutchman that he expects to put pen to paper on fresh terms in Catalunya’s capital in the near future.

De Jong for his part returned to starting duties in Barcelona’s colours earlier today.

En route to the club’s 7-3 pre-season drubbing of South Korean outfit FC Seoul, the former Ajax man joined Pedri in his customary berth at the base of Hansi Flick’s midfield.

Post-match at the Seoul World Cup Stadium, De Jong, in turn, was pulled in for an interview with the media.

During as much, the subject of his ongoing contract talks with Barcelona was inevitably put to the 28-year-old.

And, after something of a bounce-back campaign in 2024/25, De Jong appeared confident in stating:

“I haven’t renewed yet, but I’m very happy at Barça. From what I know, Barça is with me. In the end, I will renew.”
