Foot Mercato reports that PSV Eindhoven are close to signing French fullback Kiliann Silldillia away from SC Freiburg. Sildillia exit rumors are by no means new, however, and virtually all of them over the last six months have proven false. The 23-year-old’s still maintains status with his Bundesliga club.
The French source – along with some Dutch news outlets – nevertheless claim that negotiations over Sildillia’s transfer to the Eredivisie are at an “advanced stage”. Two moves from Freiburg this summer suggest that the Breisgauer may be prepared to let Sildillia go.
Freiburg spent a great deal of money to re-acquire German fullback Philipp Treu from St. Pauli and have also handed 23-year-old French fullback Jordy Makengo a contract extension.
Sildillia must directly compete with both Treu and resurgent German veteran Lukas Kübler for his starting position on the right-hand-side of defense.
At present, Treu and Kübler have a head start. The two Germans are at SCF training camp whilst Sildillia takes a break after the UEFA U21 Euros.
