Kylian Mbappe has had to face a difficult few months since his blockbuster arrival at Real Madrid back in the summer transfer window.
The French superstar has failed to hit the heights expected of him at the Santiago Bernabeu in the few months that he has been in the Spanish capital.
Meanwhile, Mbappe has now been out of the France national setup for the second international window in a row.
The 25-year-old’s absence last month sparked a lot of controversy as he was spotted touring Sweden while his teammates played Israel in the UEFA Nations League, after citing fitness reasons to not get called up.
This time around, Mbappe has been left out by manager Didier Deschamps, even though the Real Madrid ace made himself available, sparking question marks about his situation with the national team, especially considering that he is the captain.

Amidst the constant criticism from the media, both in Spain and France, Mbappe has received some support from his France teammate Dayot Upamecano.
“We’re not worried. We must not forget what Kylian has done for the French team. We don’t give him enough credit,” said the Bayern Munich defender.
“I hope to see him again very soon, because we mustn’t forget that he’s our captain. I hope to see him again very soon because he’s very important to us.”
On being asked if he was surprised by Mbappe’s absence from the squad list for the upcoming matches, Upamecano replied:
“As I said, he’s a great player and a friend. I know what he’s capable of. I hope he’ll come back and take the armband as soon as he does.”
As reported earlier today, a member of the Real Madrid superstar’s entourage has revealed that the forward is dealing with some mental issues and is working with professionals to address the matter.
