Ruben Amorim has provided an update on his personnel options for Sunday’s FA Cup clash at the Emirates.
Manchester United are preparing to lock horns with the only other side to have lifted the renowned trophy more times than them when they take on Arsenal at 3pm tomorrow.
The Reds have had seven days to recuperate and switch their full attention to Sunday after last week’s action-packed draw with Liverpool, which will have undoubtedly benefitted Amorim to have more training sessions with a full squad at his disposal.
He is, as always, navigating numerous absentees. He confirmed in his pre-match press conference that Victor Lindelof and Jonny Evans are ruled out, while Luke Shaw and Mason Mount remain unavailable – but are working on their recoveries at Carrington.
One surprise name on the list was Amad Diallo, who is reportedly nursing a slight injury setback.

“Vic (Lindelof) continues out, Jonny (Evans) continues out, Amad has a little injury, but I think he can recover,” Amorim told MUTV. “Luke Shaw continues his improvements, Mason Mount also, the rest are strong to compete for a place and play the game.”
For the Old Trafford faithful, the prospect of being without their ‘unplayable’ starlet against the Gunners is a worrisome one. He has been United’s standout performer of the season thus far by a mile – hence his scintillating efforts being rewarded with a lucrative contract extension this week.
Hopefully, Amad has had enough time to brush off the setback and train before the build-up to kick-off. The Ivorian has notched six goals and seven assists in all competitions this term, more recently adding a goal to his tally at Anfield to seal a crucial point against United’s arch-rivals, as well as become only the second Red – after Lisandro Martinez’s opener – to score at the ground since December 2018.
