Fortuna Sittard announce signing of former PSG and Sunderland midfielder Édouard Michut | OneFootball

Fortuna Sittard have bolstered their midfield with the signing of former PSG talent Édouard Michut on a free transfer. The 21-year-old had been without a club since departing Adana Demirspor in the summer but has now signed a three-year deal with the Eredivisie side.

Michut kicked off his career at Paris Saint-Germain, where he rose through the ranks in the youth academy before featuring eight times for the first team. In the summer of 2022 the 21-year-old joined Championship side Sunderland on loan. He impressed at the Stadium of Light, making 28 appearances across all competitions.

‘I’m happy to be on the field with teammates again,’ Édouard Michut said via the club website. ‘In recent periods I have had good conversations with Americo Branco and trainer Danny Buijs, so I am sure that Fortuna is a wonderful next step in my career. I was there against SC Heerenveen in the stadium and it felt good right away. I look forward to getting started here.’ Fortuna currently sit 7th in the Eredivisie table, winning five of their opening 11 games.
