Former Southampton winger Lloyd-Smith joins Bristol City | OneFootball

Former Southampton winger Lexi Lloyd-Smith has joined Bristol City on a two-year deal.

The Robins announced news of the transfer via a post on their official club website this evening.

The 21-year-old moves to Bristol City on a free transfer after leaving former club Southampton earlier this summer.

Lloyd-Smith has impressed in her time playing Barclays Women’s Championship football. She has terrorised opposition defenders with her pace and trickery. The former Arsenal and Chelsea apprentice has represented both Charlton Athletic and Southampton in the second tier. In her two seasons at Southampton, Lloyd-Smith made 33 league appearances and scored two goals.

With Lloyd-Smith still building her senior playing experience, the player has some untapped potential and Bristol City will be hoping to get even more from her in the next two seasons.

After completing her move to Ashton Gate, Lloyd-Smith said “I can’t wait to get started. The facilities are amazing, and I can’t wait to get out on the pitch to show everyone what I can do.

“I enjoyed meeting the girls too and I love the energy and the vibe at the club. It feels like a big family.”

Lloyd-Smith becomes Bristol City’s first signing of the summer transfer window.
