A former member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has discovered that the grass is not always greener on the other side, since his departure from the club.

That’s according to Relevo, who point towards Karim Benzema as the player in question.

Frontman Benzema of course brought a close to the legendary Real Madrid chapter of his career last summer.

As much came with the aging frontman having sought out the riches of Saudi Arabian football, linking up with Al-Ittihad as part of a lucrative deal.

Safe to say, however, that the Frenchman’s time in the Middle East has since not gone exactly according to plan.

Though he has managed a solid haul of 21 goal contributions across 29 appearances to date, Benzema is understood to be far from happy with life at his newest club.

As per a report from Relevo, a series of factors have resulted in the Ballon d’Or winner failing to settle in the Saudi Pro League.

From poor facilities to a disappointing standard of football, Benzema has been left ‘regretful and frustrated’ with how things have played out since his departure from Spain.

The 36-year-old has made as much clear to a number of close friends, since making his way back to Madrid to undergo treatment on an injury suffered late last month.

It is concluded that:

‘Karim, according to several of those close to him, is so upset with the situation he has had that he would like to get out of there, at least from his current club.’
