Tammy Abraham is closing in on a move to Besiktas after the Turkish side reached a verbal agreement with AS Roma.
Besiktas have agreed a fee in the region of €20m (£17.1m) for Abraham with the forward open to the move to the Süper Lig.
Abraham spent last season on loan at AC Milan, where he scored 10 goals in 44 appearances across all competitions. The Rossoneri decided against pursuing a permanent transfer and Abraham is now on the verge of a move to Turkey.
Fabrizio Romano has confirmed a verbal agreement has been reached, with the formalities of the transfer to be completed in the coming days.
The 27-year-old will link up with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side as Bestikas aim to bounce back from a disappointing sixth-place finish in Turkey last season. Fellow Englishman Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is also part of the Besiktas squad.
Abraham had been linked with a potential return to the Premier League. He has been with Roma since joining from Chelsea in a £34m deal in 2021.
The 11-cap England international scored 37 times in 120 appearances for the Italian side. However, 27 of those goals came during his debut season as Roma won the Europa Conference League. An ACL injury later impacted his time at the Stadio Olimpico before his loan move to Milan last summer.
