Adam Matthews signs for Shamrock Rovers. Photo League of Ireland.
Former Welsh international Adam was a highly rated prospect when he signed Celtic back in 2011 from Cardiff City, and he went on the make 150 appearances for the club scoring five goals, winning every domestic honour with the club, which included 4 league titles, a Scottish cup, and a league cup.
He also acquitted himself well in the greatest club competition in world football, which is of course the champions league, playing in our famous victory over Barcelona in 2012.

Adam left the club in 2015 when he joined Sunderland, staying with the black cats for four years before joining Charlton Athletic. His next stop was sunny Cyprus in 2022 where he linked up with former boss Neil Lennon at Omonia, enjoying a decent two year spell which included a Cypriot cup win in 2023.
Adam is now back on these shores, and Ireland is his destination, where he will represent the green and white hoops of Shamrock Rovers. Best of luck Adam.
