One former Aston Villa manager claims that a current Chelsea player ‘looks like someone who’s playing soccer aid’ in a bit of a dig.

Although that is a bit of an offensive thing to say about any professional footballer, the dig also comes as part of a compliment and some praise too, in a bit of an odd comment about the player.

EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea make club-to-club contact to sign new Premier League striker!!

It’s weird to see someone criticising a Chelsea player at the moment though really, because they have all been doing so well in recent games. And the player in question also scored to help Chelsea beat Brentford 2-1 at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League last night.

It was Marc Cucurella who bagged the first goal with a rare headed finish for him, and then striker Nicolas Jackson smashed in the second which actually turned out to be the winner with some late Brentford pressure causing some issues for Chelsea despite them dominating the game.

It is Jackson who is being praised whilst also being criticised by former Villa manager Tim Sherwood after the game. Sherwood, who also played and coached at Tottenham as well, is now mostly just doing punditry after being out of a coaching job for a while.

Jackson a soccer aid player?

Jackson scores for Chelsea!

Sherwood said on Jackson:

🗣️ “Since I’ve seen Nicolas Jackson, he’s so unpredictable. At times he looks like someone who’s playing soccer aid who’s not a footballer, but all of a sudden he turns it on.

“He’s such a threat, because he tries to get in behind. He doesn’t mind if he misses chances because he knows there’s more to come.”

To be honest Jackson can be hit or miss. I didn’t think he played well yesterday, but when it mattered the most he stepped up to bang in a very good goal.
