Nottingham Forest are still in the race for Champions League football after grabbing a 2-1 win over West Ham on Sunday at the London Stadium.

It didn’t take long for Forest to get going - just 11 minutes in, Morgan Gibbs-White pounced on a sloppy pass from West Ham keeper Alphonse Areola and coolly slotted it into an open goal.

They kept pushing for another and got a bit of luck just after the hour mark when Anthony Elanga whipped in a free-kick that deflected off Nikola Milenkovic and ended up in the back of the net.

The hosts weren’t done though - with only a few minutes left, Jarrod Bowen took advantage of a poor clearance by Morato and smashed in a brilliant volley to give the home fans hope.

The final moments were nervy, with a late Niclas Füllkrug header kept out by Matz Sels and a bit of a bust-up that saw several players booked, but Forest saw it out.

They’re now seventh in the table with 65 points from 37 matches – just a point behind the Champions League places and level on points with Man City. Their final game is at home to fourth-placed Chelsea next Sunday – and it could be a massive one.
