We are approaching the busy end of the summer transfer window, and the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United are still searching for the perfect striker signing.

A number of high-profile centre-forwards have already been linked with summer transfers. Here are five names who could be playing in the Premier League next season.

Benjamin Sesko – RB Leipzig

The Slovenian ace was on the radar of Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United last summer but ended up signing an improved contract at RB Leipzig. He followed up with a solid season, scoring 21 goals and providing six assists in all competitions.

Chelsea and United are no longer in the race. Arsenal are the only club in concrete talks at the moment. The 22-year-old has a £68 million release clause in his contract, but the Gunners could pay more to negotiate a long-term payment plan.

Viktor Gyokeres – Sporting CP

The Sweden sensation had a fabulous 2024/25 campaign with 54 goals and 13 assists from just 52 outings for Sporting CP. He is now determined to pursue a new challenge and reportedly has his sights on joining Arsenal over the summer.

Sporting CP are adamant that he won’t be sold for less than £68m. Arsenal have identified Gyokeres as a fallback option if they can’t purchase Sesko. If the latter were to join the Gunners, Gyokeres could still move to the English top flight with United. Manager Ruben Amorim has refused to rule out a reunion with the Swede and has shared his stance with the hierarchy.

Goncalo Ramos – Paris Saint-Germain

The 24-year-old captured headlines at the 2022 World Cup after scoring a stellar hat-trick for Portugal against Switzerland in the round of 16 stage. However, he has since gone off the radar despite his high-profile move from Benfica to Paris Saint-Germain.

Ramos was a regular late substitute during the back end of PSG’s successful Champions League campaign. Manager Luis Enrique preferred Ousmane Dembele upfront. Ramos could emerge as a potential loan target for an elite English club, such as Manchester United.

Jonathan David – Lille

The 25-year-old has been linked with a Premier League move during the last few summer transfer windows, but a deal has never materialised. He will officially be a free agent when his contract expires with Lille at midnight on June 30.

David has been touted to move to Serie A in recent weeks. Juventus have been named as potential suitors but have yet to finalise contract terms. Their indecision could see a Premier League club capitalise on the opportunity to sign the Canadian star, who scored 25 goals and provided 12 assists for Lille last term.

Hugo Ekitike – Eintracht Frankfurt

The Frenchman had a good progressive season with Eintracht Frankfurt. He registered 22 goals and 12 assists in all competitions. He came out of the shadows of Omar Marmoush following the Egyptian’s move to Manchester City last winter.

Ekitike could follow suit with a Premier League switch. BILD have claimed that Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal are serious admirers of the 23-year-old, but he won’t come on the cheap, with Frankfurt set to hold out for £86m.
