FC Köln’s Tim Lemperle has refused to sign a contract extension as a transfer to the Bundesliga beckons next summer, according to Florian Plettenberg.
Köln were eager to extend the forward’s contract beyond the summer of 2025 but the player’s management have refused talks.
As per reports, TSG Hoffenheim alongside four other Bundesliga teams are currently looking to sign the 22 year old in the summer on a free transfer.
It’s clear from the player’s stance with Köln that he is interested in making the step up to Germany’s top flight.
Köln themselves will be hoping to be in the Bundesliga next year as they compete in an intense 2. Bundesliga for promotion.
So far, Lemperle has been key to the club’s successes. Already this campaign, the forward has scored 8 and assisted 4 times in 15 league matches.
The player and his representatives will be free to talk to other clubs from January 1st.
