An eighth signing of an exciting summer today arrived in the form of England international Dominic Calvert-Lewin following his departure from Everton.
The vastly experienced striker has tallied up nearly 250 appearances in the Premier League and has joined the Whites until 2028.
Below are eight facts and figures about our latest recruit...
The 28-year-old’s 57 goals place him third on Everton’s all-time top Premier League goalscorers list behind Belgian forward Romelu Lukaku and fan favourite Duncan Ferguson and one ahead of Australian Tim Cahill.
Following impressive goalscoring exploits with the Toffees, Gareth Southgate handed an England debut to the forward aged 23. The striker duly seized the opportunity, heading home the opener against Wales in a 3-0 victory at Wembley.
Dominic’s three further goals for his country came in a 3-0 success over the Republic of Ireland and a brace against San Marino in a World Cup Qualifier.
The most recent of his 11 England appearances were as part of the Euro 2020 squad that reached the final as the attacker featured against Croatia and Ukraine.
Calvert-Lewin fired England Under-20s to World Cup glory in 2017, grabbing the winner as the Young Lions beat Venezuela 1-0 in the final with former Whites midfielder Lewis Cook skippering the side. In doing so, the striker became just the third English player to score in a World Cup Final, after the legendary Geoff Hurst and Martin Peters.
Dominic made his Premier League debut in a 2-1 win for the Merseyside outfit over Arsenal in 2016. The following March he would open his account in England's top-flight by netting in a 4-0 victory over Hull City. A maiden Premier League hattrick came in 2020 in a 5-2 triumph over West Bromwich Albion at Goodison Park.
The attacker has also experienced European competition with Everton, making five appearances in the UEFA Europa League which included clashes with Serie A side Atalanta and French giants Olympique Lyon.
The current Whites player who has lined up against Calvert-Lewin most throughout his career is fellow new arrival Sean Longstaff, though his seven appearances came with Newcastle United. In those matches, Dominic scored five times!
