Fabrizio Romano reveals ongoing talks between Manchester United and Royal Antwerp for Senne Lammens who is determined to make the move to Old Trafford.

The Premier League giants have been in the market for a new goalkeeper, but haven’t made significant progress on any track, despite being linked with reputable names like Gianluigi Donnarumma and Emiliano Martinez.

Nevertheless, Altay Bayindir’s woes on the opening day of the season may have served as a stern reminder for INEOS regarding the dire need to address this particular department. Andre Onana could reclaim his spot this weekend, but he hasn’t exactly covered himself in glory over the past two years, to put it mildly.

Therefore, Romano reveals some interesting developments in the market in recent hours.

Man United making progress in Senne Lammens talks

In the latest video posted on his official YouTube channel, the Italian journalist revealed ongoing negotiations between Man Utd and Royal Antwerp for Lammens, who has been on the club’s radar for quite some time now.

The 23-year-old is a youth product of Club Brugge who was released in 2023, only to prove his doubters after signing for Antwerp. The Belgian custodian is coming off a solid campaign and has been described as ‘simply phenomenal’.

Romano adds that the talks have reached an advanced stage, although they haven’t reached a definitive agreement just yet. Nevertheless, MUFC can count on the player’s desire to join them, as the source reveals that Lammens is absolutely determined to sign for the Red Devils before the end of the summer.

Lammens’ arrival won’t impact Onana’s Man Utd future

The transfer market expert also notes that Man Utd are enticed by the Belgian’s relatively low salary, which only constitutes a fraction of Donnarumma’s current Paris Saint-Germain salary.

British journalist Ben Jacobs is also reporting an almost identical story. He expects the deal to cost Man United circa £17 million.

Like Romano, Jacobs insists that Lammens’ arrival wouldn’t necessarily spell the end of Onana’s time at the time, but nothing has been reported on Bayindir’s fate.
