The Owls continue to find themselves in a mess with just over a week to go until the 2025-26 Championship season gets underway.

The club remains under a three-window transfer embargo, have had a series of high-profile player exits, and now boss Danny Rohl has left the club, leaving Henrik Pedersen to pick up the pieces.

The Yorkshire outfit kicks off their new second-tier season away at Leicester City on the 10th August, with fears growing that they could be involved in a relegation battle this term.

In further news, divisive owner Dejphon Chansiri has revealed what price would lure him into selling Sheffield Wednesday, with journalist Alan Nixon reporting that £100 million would be enough to see the Thai businessman walk away from Hillsborough.

With this news in mind, pundit Don Goodman has weighed in with his thoughts on Chansiri’s asking figure and whether it could lure any suitors.

Speaking exclusively to Football League World, Sky Sports pundit Don Goodman believes the £100 million asking price by Dejphon Chansiri is “unrealistic”, with Sheffield Wednesday not in a position as a club to demand such a sizeable sum of money.

Goodman said: “£100 million for Sheffield Wednesday is a crazy amount of money and very unrealistic I would think.

“When you imagine that a couple of years ago Leeds United were brought by the 49ers for about £170 million, that was with the likelihood of Premier League football, and as recently as last season, Sheffield United were bought for £105 million, again with much more of a chance of Premier League football than Sheffield Wednesday have.

“Therefore, £100 million for Sheffield Wednesday is a very unrealistic figure. When you look at the playing assets that they could sell, there aren't too many, whereas you compare that to Leeds then and Sheffield United last season, lots and lots of sellable assets, so unless he lowers the asking price, I think the club are in real danger of going into administration or even worse.”

Dejphon Chansiri must lower the asking price for Sheffield Wednesday to prosper

Sheffield Wednesday supporters will be sick of the constant antics of Dejphon Chansiri, and the £100 million asking price is one of many grave errors he has made which has seen Wednesday suffer so badly both on and off the pitch.

As Don Goodman alluded to, Wednesday aren’t in a position to demand such a big fee.

While they are still a massive club, they have hardly been up the top end of the table in recent times, fighting for promotion, and with all the financial issues, someone of serious fortune would have to come in, as it would take a lot more money than the original £100 million sum to fix the problems that surround the club presently.

When comparing the figures of sales to Yorkshire rivals Leeds United and Sheffield United, it’s a ridiculous price to demand, which is unlikely to see anybody jump in and want to take over the current sinking ship.
