The young playmaker missed out on selection in Manchester City’s final three games of the season. Perhaps the biggest disappointment for McAtee was the fact that he didn’t even make Manchester City’s matchday squad for the FA Cup final against Crystal Palace. McAtee had played an important role in City’s run to the FA Cup final, but they ultimately lost 1-nil to Crystal Palace.

Heading into the summer transfer window, it wouldn’t be a major surprise to see James McAtee leave Manchester City. The talented young playmaker needs to be playing regularly to further his career. He also only has one more year left on his current contract. Now, Esteemed Kompany sources have revealed that there is an extensive list of clubs interested in signing James McAtee this summer. It now seems that McAtee could have a choice to make this summer.

A host of clubs have registered their interest in signing Manchester City’s forgotten playmaker, James McAtee, this summer.

Esteemed Kompany sources have learned that there are seven clubs interested in signing James McAtee. Premier League clubs Tottenham, West Ham, Leeds United, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Nottingham Forest are interested in signing James McAtee. Furthermore, Esteemed Kompany sources have revealed that Bundesliga clubs Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund both have an interest in signing McAtee. Lastly, Esteemed Kompany sources have indicated that Manchester City is hoping to sell James McAtee for a transfer fee of between €30-35 million.

It promises to be a summer of upheaval in Manchester City. Members of Pep Guardiola’s staff will be let go this summer. Aritz Gabilondo has reported for Spanish publication AS that City assistant manager Juanma Lillo is set to leave Manchester City. That is one high-profile member of Pep Guardiola’s staff that will leave. Players will also leave Manchester City this summer. That has to be done so Manchester City can rebuild Pep Guardiola’s squad.

One player who seems certain to leave the club is James McAtee. McAtee had his moments during the 24/25 season. But he missed out on selection in Manchester City’s matchday squad for their final three games of the season. That would appear to suggest that his future lies away from the Etihad.

There appears to be a sizable list of suitors for James McAtee’s signature this summer. That situation could play into Manchester City’s hands. If they are to gain a sizable transfer fee for McAtee, the more suitors, the better. There are at least seven clubs interested in signing the young playmaker so that’s a positive sign for McAtee and Manchester City.
