Carlo Ancelotti believes that ever after their 5-0 loss to PSG, Inter Milan deserve credit for reaching two Champions League finals.
The current Brazil and former Real Madrid and AC Milan coach spoke to Il Giornale, via FCInterNews.
Inter Milan’s season came to the most bittersweet of ends last campaign.
The Nerazzurri had enjoyed a thrilling ride through the knockout rounds of the Champions League.
Inter overcame Bayern Munich in the quarterfinals of the competition.
Then, in the semifinals, the Nerazzurri eliminated Barcelona in an instant classic tie which saw both teams score six goals across 180 minutes. Inter scored in stoppage time to reach the final.
However, the final proved to be a bridge too far for Inter. They lost to Paris Saint-Germain.
Furthermore, it was not the same kind of loss as the 2023 Champions League final – a 1-0 loss to Manchester City in which Inter went toe-to-toe with the English giants.
Far from it, Inter looked completely off the pace against PSG.

Carlo Ancelotti gave his thoughts on that Champions League final defeat.
“It’s hard to forget the result,” the veteran coach said of the 5-0 defeat.
“But first of all, we have to remember that Inter reached the final. Not everyone can do that.”
“Anyone who plays in the Champions League is aiming to win it,” Ancelotti declared.
“But to do that, you have to reach the final. And Inter have done that twice.”
“Then, Beppe Marotta will know how to manage any setbacks,” Ancelotti said.
