Former Manchester United defender Brandon Williams has received a major career lifeline after his impressive trial with Hull City.
A report covered by The Peoples Person last month relayed that Williams was on trial at Hull in a bid to get his career back on track after a lengthy period without a club.
He has been away from competitive football since United released him at the end of the 2023/24 season.
Williams came through the ranks at United and ended up amassing 51 first-team appearances for the Red Devils. He had loan stints at Norwich City and Ipswich Town before permanently departing Old Trafford.
The former England youth international has faced a challenging spell during his time away from the game.
Earlier this year, he opened up on his mental health struggles, revealing that he was ignoring his family and close friends, including fellow Carrington academy graduates Angel Gomes and James Garner.
Williams also avoided jail after he pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, which resulted in him crashing his Audi. He was handed a 14-month sentence, suspended for two years, and banned from driving for three years.
However, it appears Williams is very well on track to make a sensational comeback, with a new report claiming that there are several clubs lining up to take him after his fine performances at Hull.
According to the Daily Mail, “Brandon Williams – the former Manchester United starlet – is being chased by clubs in the Championship and overseas, Mail Sport understands.”
“Williams has impressed during a trial period at Hull City, with reports locally suggesting that the Tigers are set to offer him a contract.”
“But his attitude and form during a short spell at the MKM Stadium has alerted others, with Championship rivals and clubs abroad expressing an interest in taking a player who is still only 24.”
The Crumpsall-born player has come off the bench twice for Hull and looked the part in clashes against Getafe and Premier League newcomers Sunderland.
