Henrikh Mkhitaryan feels that yesterday’s Serie A Derby d’Italia against Juventus was a match Inter Milan “didn’t deserve to lose.”
The 36-year-old former Arsenal and Roma midfielder spoke to SporTV after the match, via FCInterNews.
For the third time this season, Inter Milan have slumped to defeat in Serie A.
And unlike in losses against AC Milan and Fiorentina, this wasn’t necessarily the result of the Nerazzurri being second best for ninety minutes.
In the first half in particular, Inter showed their strength. They outclassed Juventus, and created more and better chances.
But that counted for nothing, as the Nerazzurri were unable to find the back of the net with any of the opportunities that they had.
That gave Juventus the opening they needed. As the match stayed at 0-0, the Bianconeri really started to grow into it.
And finally, Juventus delivered the decisive blow in the second half. Francisco Conceicao, and Inter were unable to come up with an equalizer.
After the match, Inter midfielder Henrikh Mkhitayran gave his thoughts. “Obviously we had to take advantage of the chances we created,” he said.
“We paid the price for not doing so.”

“We were lacking the goal to break the deadlock,” Mkhitaryan noted.
“Because in the first half we did very well. And then even in the second, even though we didn’t create as much.”
“We didn’t deserve to lose,” Mkhitaryan argued after yesterday’s match. “But we have to keep our heads down and keep working.”
“Obviously there’s always room to improve,” he noted.,
“If we want to win the Scudetto we have to win these matches. We can’t get too casual and then draw or lose these matches.”
