Former Arsenal midfielder Anders Limpar is confident that Viktor Gyökeres will continue his incredible goalscoring form once he completes his move to North London.
Following a long-running transfer saga, Arsenal finally reached a breakthrough this week. It is understood that a full agreement is now in place to bring the Swedish striker to the Emirates Stadium. Barring any late complications, the 26-year-old is set to become an Arsenal player.
Gyökeres has enjoyed a prolific spell in Portugal, scoring over 90 goals across two seasons. Still, there are understandable concerns about how his output will translate to the Premier League. According to his former mentor, however, the striker is ready for the challenge.
Limpar, who played for Arsenal in the 1990s and worked with a young Gyökeres at Swedish side Brommapojkarna, believes the Gunners are getting a complete professional.
“I know that pretty much all the Arsenal players are top professionals,” he told fotbolldirekt.se. “I’ve been to the training ground, spoken to Arteta. He’s Mr 100 percent professional. And that’s what you get from Viktor.”
“He’s such a prospect when it comes to looking after himself, no scandals, he is a hell of a player. He’s a No.9 and can sniff a goal chance. He’s going to be the perfect icing on the cake at Arsenal.
“And I don’t have to look down on Havertz or Jesus. But bringing in Viktor at this moment, at his best age and form, he’s a goalscoring machine. With all the supply from the wings and from Odegaard, he’s going to score 25 goals.”

Gyökeres, formerly of Coventry City, is known for his explosive pace, lethal finishing and relentless hunger for goals. His arrival could give Arsenal the final edge needed to push them over the line in the title race.
After three consecutive second-place finishes and a heavy summer of investment, adding Martin Zubimendi, Christian Nørgaard, Kepa Arrizabalaga and Noni Madueke, it feels like a defining moment.
So coming back to Gyökeres, what are the chances of him hitting 25 or more goals in his debut Premier League campaign? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
