A look at some of the incredible milestones our City stars have contributed to at Euro 2025.
Ten of our players were involved at the tournament, with four helping England retain their title with a dramatic penalty shootout win over Spain in the final.
But each member of the City squad at the tournament played their part to make sure this summer’s Euros left a lasting impression on the footballing world.
Below are some of the incredible records and milestones involving our City stars from Euro 2025…
Euro 2025 was the best attended tournament in the competition’s history.
In total, there were 657,291 spectators across the summer, with 29 of the 31 total matches sold out.
That surpasses the previous record set at Euro 2022, which drew in 574,875 fans.
Viewing figures for the final were also astronomical. In the United Kingdom, the Lionesses’ victory was the most watched television moment of 2025, with a peak live audience of 12.2m viewers on all BBC platforms alone.
Khiara Keating, Alex Greenwood, Jess Park and Lauren Hemp helped the Lionesses make history in Switzerland.
Not only did they become the first England side – men’s or women’s - to win a major trophy on foreign soil, but they’re also just the second team in history to retain the title, having also been crowned European champions back in 2022.
They certainly did it the hard way, with dramatic late turnarounds against Sweden and Italy seeing each of their knockout ties go the full 120 minutes before coming out on top.
Against Sweden, they became the first team in Euros history to come from two goals down during the knockout stages and were also the first side to be trailing at half-time in the final and go on to win.
England led for just four minutes and 52 seconds across their three knockout stage matches en route to victory.
The Netherlands were eliminated at the group stages after finishing third in a group containing England, France and Wales, but their sole victory did bring up an impressive milestone for Vivianne Miedema.
Our forward curled home the opening goal in her nation’s emphatic 3-0 win over Wales, finding the top corner with a typically clinical finish.
Already the highest scoring Dutch player of all time across both the men’s and women’s game, Miedema’s strike saw her become the first player in her nation’s history to score 100 senior international goals.
Host nation Switzerland’s march to the quarter-finals captured the imagination, going a long way towards this tournament boasting a record attendance figure.
Iman Beney was at the centre of that success, starring for her home nation as a wing-back for the group stages before operating as a forward in their last eight tie with Spain.
The reigning world champions proved a bridge too far for the hosts who, despite battling throughout, were eventually beaten 2-0.
Regardless, Beney and co. broke new ground at Euro 2025 by helping Switzerland reach the knockout stages for the first time in their history.
Rebecca Knaak joined City in January 2025 after a trophy laden spell in Sweden but, at 28, was yet to make a senior appearance for Germany.
Her performances earned her a first senior call-up in February 2025 and, by this summer, she’d become a regular in the heart of the German defence.
Indeed, Knaak helped Germany reach the semi-finals in her first major international tournament, where they were edged out by an extra time Aitana Bonmati strike against Spain.
Coming into the tournament as World Cup and UEFA Nations League winners, Spain were tipped by many to go the distance at Euro 2025.
They cruised through the group stages, scoring 14 times in their three fixtures, before negotiating difficult ties against Switzerland and Germany to set up a final showdown with England in Basel.
Leila Ouahabi featured four times en route to that tie, coming on in extra time against the Lionesses, and while Spain ultimately fell at the final hurdle, they broke new ground by reaching the Euros final for the very first time.
