Chelsea will be missing several players for their encounter with West Ham, though the reasons stem from the boardroom rather than the treatment room.
Blues manager Enzo Maresca has revealed that neither Nicolas Jackson nor Christopher Nkunku will feature in tomorrow's squad as uncertainty surrounds their club futures. Both players remain in transfer limbo while potential moves are being considered. Maresca indicated that should both athletes remain with Chelsea after the transfer window concludes, they would be reintegrated into the first-team setup.
Manager Enzo Maresca has provided clarity on the status of two attacking players, confirming their availability but imminent exclusion from matchday duties due to the club's current squad composition.
"Jackson is available, but won't be included in the squad because we already have two strikers in that position, and we understand that things might change before the transfer window closes," Maresca stated.
He revealed that Christopher Nkunku finds himself in an identical situation, training with the team but his future unresolved. The coach suggested a transfer would be the most favorable outcome for all parties, adding, "Christopher is in the same situation as Nico. He's training with us, but waiting for a decision. I think it will be better if they find a solution—then both the players and the club will be happier."
