English trio nominated for 2024 Ballon d’Or Féminin | OneFootball

England internationals Lauren Hemp, Lauren James and Lucy Bronze have been included among the nominees for The 2024 Ballon d’Or Féminin.

James was named as Player of the Season for WSL winners Chelsea after scoring 16 goals in all competitions for the Blues, while Hemp netted 12 times for Manchester City.

Bronze, who finished as runner-up for the Ballon d’Or Féminin in 2019, is again shortlisted after forming part of Barcelona’s quadruple-winning squad in 2023/24. The right-back has since completed a transfer to WSL champions Chelsea.

Aitana Bonmatí won the award in 2023 and is aiming to become the second two-time winner, after Barcelona teammate Alexia Putellas. Putellas and fellow former winner Ada Hegeberg, who won the first-ever Ballon d’Or Féminin in 2018, are also on the shortlist.
