The season came to an end. Girona has lived a year of contrasts, with the historic debut in the Champions League in the initial stretch and a long-suffering fight for permanence at the end. The outcome was not the best, with a resounding defeat at home against Atlético, although the result ended up being more voluminous than deserved. In a competitive match and with a minimal disadvantage with three minutes to go, the visitors found the net too easily in the final stretch and ended up scoring with a hat-trick by Sorloth and another goal by Lenglet.

Even so, Girona closed the season with the objective of staying in the First Division for one more season. It will be the fourth consecutive and the sixth in total, to continue growing as a Club and consolidate the entity's project at the highest level.
