Manchester City welcome Nottingham Forest to the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night as the hosts look to end a seven-game winless streak across competitions.
Pep Guardiola and his players will no doubt be desperate to bring an end to their torrid run of form that last saw them win a game in any competition over a month ago, when Southampton fell to a 1-0 loss at the Etihad Stadium on 26 October.
Manchester City moved 11 points adrift of Liverpool and fell to fifth position in the Premier League table at the weekend after goals from Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah recorded a 2-0 home win at Anfield for Arne Slot and his players.
As for Nottingham Forest, they brought an end to back-to-back defeats in the Premier League last time out as a single goal from the penalty spot via the ever-scoring Chris Wood recorded a 1-0 home win over Ipswich Town.
Manchester City will continue to be without Oscar Bobb and Rodri this weekend, whilst Mateo Kovacic has now been joined by John Stones on the treatment table, with the latter suffering from a problem in his feet.
Ahead of the confirmed team news from the Etihad Stadium this week, some initial information has began to filter throughout social media from journalists and sources regarding Manchester City’s starting line-up.
According to the information of the Manchester Evening News’ Joe Bray, Pep Guardiola and his Premier League champions arrived at the Etihad Stadium roughly an hour earlier than usual for tonight’s meeting with Nottingham Forest.
Among those not spotted arriving with the rest of the squad was Phil Foden, whilst confirmation of Erling Haaland’s starting place in Manchester City’s line-up has also arrived early courtesy of Joe Bray’s report.
Pep Guardiola and Nuno Espirito Santo are expected to confirmed their respective Manchester City and Nottingham Forest starting line-ups around 18:15 (UK) on Wednesday evening.
Now confirmed.
