Diego Simeone speaks out on Atlético’s summer transfer plans | OneFootball

Atlético Madrid head coach Diego Simeone was today drawn on the club’s plans for the summer transfer window.

As much comes fresh off Atlético seeing out their final home fixture of the campaign, in frankly alarming fashion.

The Rojiblancos welcomed an Osasuna outfit in the midst of a six-game winless streak to the Wanda Metropolitano on Sunday night.

And, when all was said and done, the visitors brought to an end their woes in quite spectacular fashion, at the expense of a hapless Atléti.

Speaking to the media in the aftermath of his side’s endeavours for the season in Madrid coming to a close, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of plans to strengthen his squad with a view to 2024/25 was put to the aforementioned Diego Simeone.

And the Argentine went on to confirm that he sat down with the Atlético brass late last week, to talk over their ideas for the summer:

“Signings? The board and I got together, we talked, we met on Friday. The club made an effort to allow us to compete as we did. We hope to sustain it. We think the same way.”
