Fiorentina are pushing for the arrival of former Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof, but the Viola are not in the mix to sign Diogo Leite from Bundesliga outfit Union Berlin, Football Italia understands.
Reports from various outlets on Tuesday claimed that Fiorentina were pursuing a deal for former Porto defender Diogo Leite from Union Berlin, however, none of this is true. In fact, despite there being suggestions of negotiations being in an advanced stage, there have not even been any direct talks between the relevant parties.
Instead, Fiorentina are strongly targeting a move for Lindelof, who is currently available as a free agent after leaving Manchester United at the end of his contract earlier this summer.
Viola goalkeeper David De Gea, one of Lindelof’s former Manchester United teammates, is also involved in convincing the Swede to move to Tuscany this summer.

Fiorentina’s interest in Lindelof is not connected to a potential move away from the club for 20-year-old Pietro Comuzzo.
The young Italy hopeful has been subject of interest from Al-Hilal, but in reality, Comuzzo has never truly opened up to the idea of a move to the Saudi Pro League.

Instead, Fiorentina will look to secure a move for Lindelof, and are prepared to offer the 31-year-old a two-year contract with an option for an additional 12 months. La Viola hope to fend off competition from two Premier League sides in Everton and Brentford.
